How To Tie Dye Dot NetLesson One :: Camouflage Peace Sign Tie Dye T-Shirt
1) Put 100% cotton t-shirt in the washing machine and wash regularly. 2) Lay wet t-shirt flat on a table. 3) Mark the sides of the t-shirt with a washable marker pen. 4) Fold the shirt in half using the side marks to keep the shirt even. 5) Draw a half circle on the t-shirt. 6) Draw the center line of the Peace Sign down the middle of the half circle. 7) Draw the side arm of the Peace Sign by making a line from the center of the circle about 45 degrees over to the edge of the circle. 8) Fold the shirt starting with the outside of the circle. 9) Try to keep the folds all the same size about 1/2" tall works great. 10) Tie with a rubber band on the line that was folded to make the outer circle. 11) Flip the shirt over. 12) Fold the straight line next and get it to align over the first tie that was made (This is the middle line of the Peace Sign). 13) Add another rubber band to fasten the newest fold, align it right over the top of the first tie. 14) Add two or three more small sections by tieing with rubber bands. This will create some rings of colors around the Peace Sign. 15) Smooth out the inside part of the peace sign to see the last remaining line that was drawn. 16) Fold along this line, carefully bunching the cotton into two small sections. The bigger section is the larger top part of the peace sign and the smaller is the smaller section on the botton of the peace sign. 17) Add two rubber bands, one to each side of the line that is marked on the shirt. This small middle area is the border that makes up the peace sign. The two small "Rabbit Ears" sections are the inside sections that make up the rest of the peace sign. Now the Peace Sign is all tied up! Follow the rest of the instructions to learn how to dye it! 18) Take the tied Peace Sign shirt and dip it into the bucket of soda ash. 19) After the shirt is soaked ring out the shirt.
